Introduction
This exclusive one day super-jeep tour takes us to Gigjökull which is a glacierfall from Eyjafjallajökull. From Gigjökull the melted ice from the eruption at Eyjafjallajökull came bursting down and created a destructive flood on its way to sea.
Itinerary
This one day tour takes us to Gigjökull which is a glacierfall from Eyjafjallajökull. From Gigjökull the melted ice from the eruption at Eyjafjallajökull came bursting down and created a destructive flood on its way to sea. From Gigjökull and the destruction of the eruption we continue our tour to the beautiful Seljalandsfoss where the sure-footed can walk behind the cascade. On the way we will explore a spectacular hidden canyon with a unique flora, green moss walls and a beautiful waterfall. Now we will stop for an Icelandic picnic (included).
After picnic the tour takes us through areas where no normal vehicle can go, travel through areas which were badly hit by ashfall in the beginning of the eruption and drive across glacial rivers on our journey to be able to view the eruption site.
Now its the Atlantic ocean with vast panoramic views.
We will drive along the shore-line on dramatic black beaches on our way to the impressive Skógafoss before we head back to Reykjavik This trip is guaranteed to be one of the most memorable moments of your visit to the land of ice and fire.
