Tour details

From Reykjavik, you will be picked up by your guide in a super-jeep for a day of exploring the volcanic Reykjanes Peninsula in the southwest corner of Iceland. The Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the world’s longest undersea rift, runs lengthwise through this area, resulting in more than 100 volcano craters, 200 lava tubes and 12 lavas within 1000 years old. The peninsula also includes four of the most powerful geothermal areas in Iceland, which supply three large power plants.

Along the way you will visit more than 20 interesting places, including a chance to walk among old eruption craters and hot springs and stand on the “bridge between two continents” where the Eurasian and North American plates meet. In summer, the tour also makes a stop to visit the beautiful Krýsuvíkurbjarg bird cliffs. The ultimate highlights of this tour are a short excursion into a lava tube (gear provided) and time to relax at the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa before returning to Reykjavik.

BEFORE BOOKING: We recommend first booking entrance to the Blue Lagoon to ensure availability as it can become fully booked at peak times. This tour only ensures transportation to/from the lagoon.

Please note that entrance to the Blue Lagoon is not included in this tour and must be booked separately at BlueLagoon.com. You should book entrance to the Blue Lagoon at 15:00 (1st of November – 31st of March) or 14:00 (1st of April – 31st of October) to fit the tour schedule.
