Tour details

Flying east over Reykjavik  we‘ll cover the dramatic south coast, including the now dormant Eyjafjallajökull volcano, numerous waterfalls, endless stretches of black sand beaches and the sea cliffs of Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar near Vík í Mýrdal. On arrival to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, we’ll land for 30 – 45 minutes to give you time for a boat ride around the icebergs or just some exploring by foot around the shoreline, perhaps with some sightings of seals.

Heading back west we’ll cross over the many tongues of the Vatnajökull glacier as well as Iceland’s highest mountain and the Fjallabak nature reserve in the remote highlands. This is a rare opportunity to see the largely untouched parts of Iceland, like glacial rivers, lakes in volcanic craters, colourful geothermal valleys and other primordial landscapes. We'll end with a flyover of the Landmannalaugar geothermal area, Mt. Hrafntinnusker and the Hekla volcano before returning to the city.

This tour starts and ends at the Reykjavik Domestic Airport, just minutes by taxi from downtown hotels.

Nordic Visitor works only with trusted local tour operators licensed by the Icelandic Tourist Board.
