A guided bus tour of some of the best-known natural phenomena in Iceland, including Þingvellir national park, the great Geysir area, Gullfoss waterfall and more.

This excursion offers some of the best-known natural phenomena of Iceland. First, we visit Nesjavellir, a high-temperature geothermal area situated in the picturesque landscape of Lake Þingvallavatn. This area supplies approximately 25% of the hot water needed to provide central heating to our capital. A few kilometers north we will enter Þingvellir, a national park, then onto Alþingi, our ancient parliament. We continue onto the impressive waterfall, Gullfoss, and the geothermal area, Geysir. We will next visit a beautiful church, Skálholt, the ancient seat of Icelandic Bishops, revealing a part of Iceland’s religious past. We will also visit the greenhouse community, Hveragerði. Here you will see how Icelanders have harnessed the natural geothermal energy of Iceland to grow vegetables, fruits and exotic plants. A short drive through the highly mountainous region will bring us back to the capital.
