Tour details

The Blue Lagoon is a popular geothermal spa on the Reykjanes Peninsula—conveniently located between Reykjavik and the Keflavik Int'l Airport. Here, guests can soak in geothermally-warmed seawater in the surroundings of strange lava formations. The water is fed from wells as deep as 2000 meters/6000 feet below ground, and the water stays warm and inviting at 36-39°/100-110°F throughout the whole year. Saunas and steam rooms are also on the site.

The Blue Lagoon’s natural active ingredients—mineral salts, silica and blue green algae—give the lagoon its renowned bright blue colour and also help you rejuvenate from the stresses of daily life. The lagoon's white silica mud gently cleanses and exfoliates the skin and has a revitalizing effect while the blue green algae nourish and soften the skin. The mineral salts add to the relaxing effect. Bathing in this surreal environment is a unique experience no one should miss and is one of the highlights of your visit to Iceland.

Transfers are provided by bus, and your return time to Reykjavik is flexible. Towels and bathing suits are available to rent on site (not included in price), and access to the Exclusive Lounge and massages also available at extra cost.

Nordic Visitor works only with trusted local tour operators licensed by the Icelandic Tourist Board.
