Introduction

This is a great half-day trek that everyone can participate in. Get in touch with the pure Icelandic nature on your own two feet.

Itinerary

Hike from the outskirts of Hveragerði, the town of hot springs and green house acriculture, into the beautiful valley of Reykjadalur. Up there hot water rushes down the slopes of Hellisheiði mountain range and creates the ideal place to relax in an untouched natural hot stream. The valley also has an amazing abundance of geothermal springs and you will witness every thing from small gurgling melting pots to vibrant super heated pools of water. After strolling along these wonder of nature we hike back down into the town of Hveragerði.

Note: Bathing in the hot spring depends on weather and snow condition.

Duration: 6 Hours

Departure days: Wednesdays and Sundays.
Departure times: Departures at 8:00-8:30
Departure points: Departures from hotels and guesthouses in the greater Reykjavik area.
Pick up: Pick up times at hotels and guesthouses are the same as departure times.
Return Details: Transportation back to hotels, guesthouses and Reykjavik city center at approx. 14:00-15:00.
Bring with you: Warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants, gloves, some headgear and hiking boots. Don't forget your bathing suits and a towel if you want to take a bath in the hot springs. Hiking shoes can be rented with the tour operator for 1000 ISK.
Minimum participation: 2 persons.
Booking
Can be booked until 2 days before departure.
